Indian Number System Quick Reference
- 1,00,000 = One Lakh (100 thousand)
- 10,00,000 = Ten Lakh (1 million)
- 1,00,00,000 = One Crore (10 million)
- 100,00,00,000 = One Hundred Crore (1 billion)
Writing a cheque: start the words close to the left edge, end with “Only”, and draw a line through any empty space so nothing can be added. Banks may reject cheques where words and figures do not match.
